UK university lecturers
to be asked to keep eyes open for angry radical students.
This stuff is satire proof. I give up. Still, at least they were specific: Asian or muslim angry radical students.
-
ITYM "asian-looking", which will ensure the special branch much more activity, and thus funding.
-
The obvious and simple solution is to segregate the Muslim and Asian-looking students. These "unsafe students" thus kept from mingling with the "safe students" will allow the white kids a chance to get a hassle-free education, and will let their professors breathe easier.
-
If this had been introduced while I was at Uni I would have been in clink so fast my feet wouldn't have touched the floor.
-
RalphTheDog: I can do you one better. As these institutions of higher learning are clearly a fertile recruiting ground for extremists, all we have to do is close the universities, and we'll have pre-emptively thwarted the terrists
-
My goodness, how do you tell a normal angry college student from a potential terrorist?
-
Brown skin.
-
Dunno, man. Some of the white people here in California are pretty dark. Buncha damned sun-worshipping cancermongers.
-
because the government believes campuses have become "fertile recruiting grounds" for extremists. Another startling find: students drink and smoke! Good lord. I've just been discussing with acquiantances how most universities have gone from being a place for advancement of intellect, with all it implies, to simple training grounds for insertion into the marketplace. I.e., around here, public universities have always been fertile grounds for protesters, leftist political parties, people that questioned authority, this along with their task as breeding grounds for professionals. This caused many employers, private companies and such, to prefer those students emerging from private universities. '(Public university) graduates need not apply'. Guess exposure to the vast spectrum of viewpoints and mindsets is what higher education should be about, but maybe the war on terrah is more important than that.
-
With what Flagpole says - don't forget that many private universities are inaccessible to the hoi polloi (even many of the bright kids). So that's also self-reinforcement of a social class.
