The Big Picture: Edward Burtynsky.
A new documentary is coming out on Edward Burtynsky, the photographer who documents industrial landscapes like a Kubrick on steroids.
The doc will explain much about the process -- like how for the factory shots, he doesn't bother shooting the first four or five tries, as no-one can stop moving -- but more importantly, will put the shots on the big screen, on a more proper scale.

Wow - looks fascinating! ))) You make the Wangs restaurant remark and then have the nerve to present a Buttinski? Sheesh.
-
These damned rock-n-rollers! nice pics - how big are they in real life? It didn't say conveniently and prominently anyway.
-
They usually are a good chunk of real estate, like 3' x 4', sometimes bigger. Brings out the insane detail. Which should be even more impressive on a movie screen...
-
(Gallery ones, anyway. They also come smaller.)

I saw some of his pics in an exhibition in Ottawa, they are amazing. Some of his best photos are of the Shipbreaking wrecks at Chittagong in Bangladesh. Unfortunately the little jpeg doesn't do the real photos justice. Like the Cap said, they're 3'x4' or larger.
