FMA just doesn't quite go far enough eh?
It seems that some on the right don't think the Presidents new Federal Marriage Amendment cuts it. They argue that it's a sellout, endorsing unmarried homosexuality.
I have a feeling they would prefer this amendment, from Protestants for the Common Good.

Oh, and Hi guys - I'm new round these parts.
-
Hello, and welcome! You'll never leave. Have an introductory banana. Your second link, as far as I can tell, hasn't got anything in it - don't think that's your fault, though, as it doesn't work from the original newsletter, either. Hey ho. C'est la vie.
-
i can see your second link, and it's a hoot! thanks! (much email forwarding shall now ensue.)
-
oh, and hello! have a cup of cockpunch to go with that 'nana.

Welcommen.

People always want to pick and choose. For example, I'm a big fan of Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines in addition to his wife or wives. (II Sam 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chron 11:21), but not so keen on executing my (hypothetical) non-virginal wife.

Works for me Flashboy.... and yea Sandspider - personally, I think I could go for a wife with a bit of experience...
-
Nope. Still nothin'. I'll try it again once I get home. Damn lousy work computer.
-
...oh, in the name of... We've flipped again, yeah?

And what if I (as one of the unfaith) want to marry someone of faith? Part of the joy of marriage is to argue with your spouse and quibble over little details. What better topic to quibble over than the existence of the Jeebus?

Welcome, Captain. Never can manage to think of Fundamentalism without immediately thinking of "fundament" = wot folk sit on. But then I have a base mind, though I play the bagpipes more excruciatingly.

I think that if any of the politicians that claim that they are against an anti-gay marriage amendment had any guts they would propose an amendment like this one as an iliistration of how silly they claim to think an anti-gay marriage amendment would be. They could submit it all serious-like. "The president has the right idea, but is afraid to go far enough. Certainly, the preseident would never want to discriminate, so what he must REALLY want is this, but those damn left-wingers won't let him, so I submit this amendment in his name!"

I like the American Anthropological Association's response to the Bush statement about straight marriage being a cornerstone of civilization. The SF Chronicle story reports on the Association's statement. um, hi there, i'm kinda new here too.

Hullo, Captain. Hullo, mamasaurus. Yes, I'm pretty new here too. Have a banana on me :->
