mkay, as a divorced 30-something living in a trailer (albeit a funky vintage spaceship looking thing), I feel somehow qualified to present to you my egg-boiling technique:
put egg in a small pot.
cover it with cold water.
bring it to a boil.
turn it off.
wait: 5-7 min for soft-boiled, 10 for hard boiled.
shell.
eat.

I was going to fry up an egg for breakfast today and actually cracked one open that was rotten. Brown and smelly! Completely put me off of my eggy-weggs.

Get egg.
Get a needle or a pin.
Jab (gently) a tiny hole in rounded bottom of egg (ie not the pointier top).
Put egg in boiling water. Watch bubbles ecsape from the little hole-- they are leaving that little air sac inside the shell. (By piercing this you make sure the egg doesn't explode in the boiling water.)
Leave for 4 mins for a well cooked egg with a runny yolk.
I'm gonna horizontally scroll your underpants because of that...
