Omniglot Although it has featured in comments, this site has never appeared as an FPP in its own right.

I quote:

This site contains details of most alphabets and other writing systems currently in use, as well as quite a few ancient and invented ones. It also includes information about some of the languages written with those writing systems, multilingual texts, tips on learning languages, a book store, some useful phrases in many different languages, and a ever-growing collection of links to language-related resources.
  • The reader-submitted writing systems are . . good. CPG was created by [name], a retired computer programmer now involved in translating Middle English poetry. His goal has been to create a writing system that combines the strong points of both Eastern logographic and Western phonetic language representation paradigms. NNNeeeeeeerrrrrrrd! woah. That's . . woah.
  • GREEEAT site! Those character sets look real cool.
  • There's also AncientScripts.
  • Exactly the right number of links, Skrik! )))!!! This is a list I'll keep handy.
  • Had great fun poking around this. From the links on the 'Phags-pa page, found this fascinating article about 14th century Christian tombstones found at Quanzhou, a port in Fujian.
  • On absolute necessity: Waar is het toilet? Waor is't gemaak? Hol van a mosdo? Onde fica o banheiro? ... los sanitarios? ... ?
