Audrey Kawasaki
will be showing her really neato art at Roq La Rue in Seattle. Show opens tonight!
I really dig the natural wood grain background.

Pretty.

Sort of a Tim Burton-y feeling to it.

Heh. Especially like the octopussed one - girls with tentacles! And the archive for the gallery is worth looking at, too ... Thanks, armaghetto!

This was on BoingBoing maybe a week or so ago? Yeah. (I'm not making anything of it!) I really like her stuff. The other two artists in the RoqLaRue show are also worth checking out, Myna Sonou and Scott Altmann. Too tired to link their pages, but they're easy to find.

"This was on BoingBoing maybe a week or so ago? Yeah. (I'm not making anything of it!)" (Not to make anything of it but...) Many people, myself included, are annoyed by this line. =P I'm a MoFier only, so what should it matter if it was x-posted on BoingBoint, MeFi, and all the other filters in the world? that's right. =) Also--neato art, I wish I was nearby to go see it!

I'm going to be watching a movie in my house in Bloomington tonight.

OMG, my eyes. rolling. SO HARD. Since I wasn't really complaining, just noting, why on earth do you need to be "annoyed" by it? And what makes you think you speak for "many people" when you do so? (Ten people on IRC? 30 people on MetaChat? What's "many" out of 5000+?) And what makes you think it's OK for you to speak for "many people" who are "annoyed"? Are you an elected emissary of the annoyed people? Speak for yourself. You don't like it - that's fine. Go pick on someone who's actually doing the thing you're describing. I've also seen "many people" (3? 5?) gripe here when someone has posted something from MeFi. Perhaps not super-recently. It does seem like most MeFi reposts here now come with some disclaimer/apology from the poster. I do not personally care either way. Obviously, plenty of people do read other popular sites as well, and it seems like at least some of them would rather not see MoFi, MeFi, BoingBoing, and a handful of others all have the same posts, so that is why they complain. They have as much a right to do so as people who don't read the other sites have to say "I don't mind the reposts." I do not think that is an issue in this particular thread, and I think it's ridiculous of you to have picked it up. (But I do think that it's polite to credit your sources, which is not to say that BoingBoing was where it was found by armaghetto. It might have shown up on Drawn, for example, a great blog that I don't read. There is absolutely nothing bad about the fact that it was posted: the art is lovely.) The actual purpose of my comment, which I mentioned was made when I was extremely tired, was to point out that the other artists in the show were also good, and that BoingBoing had, IIRC, linked to them - but too long ago for me to find the links, and I wasn't then able to do the necessary Googling and HTML and stuff. Any Monkey who can highlight/cut/paste text could potentially do it themselves. (and now this discussion goes into my official Not Worth It file.)
