An online archive of sci-fi, fantasy, and just plain strange costume. Want that costume you wore for the Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con to live again? Well, what about the con that's just about the costumes, to heck with the rest of the convention trappings!

Some of them make sense within fandom or popular culture relatively easily. Others are just strange, fantastic, and somewhat incomprehensible. And then there was a codpiece competition one year.

  • Furries! This is the most erotic post I've seen today!
  • Why does this smell like a Fark Photoshop contest?
  • This is a drag contest or what? I'm confused.
  • Most of the pictures look like they were taken with a cheap cell phone. But I'm drooling over the Erté Dress.
  • I found the site while looking for ideas for a peacock-ish looking dress, but it was just so weird I had to share it.
  • But, but, but, you can see BOOBS with that dress!
  • Which dress? url please.
  • This is good. Even the make-up looks right.
  • The living stained glass!
  • Yes, children and monkeys, I am a secret costume nerd myself.
  • That's really you? Awesome.
  • Is that you TUM? I am costume-crazy myself, but haven't generally gotten so elaborate as the people in the FFP links. I have a sea monster costume, mermaid, pirate, beautiful 2-layer semi-sheer Roman chitony type dress, long ago Medusa outfit (yes, 2 hours of braiding rubber snakes in my hair!)...
  • /wonders if the underpants monster is in fact the overchintz monster.
  • Upholstery swatches are a wench's best friend.
  • I have my emperor outfit. It requires no material at all! /Little children scream when I wear it. //Is this proper use of slashies? ///If not, will I be punished?
  • My buddy loves costumes(Myspace warning!)
Homophobes beware he is teh gay.
  • Must be logged in to view. How gay!
  • Mmmmmh, bunny!
  • *yawns*
  • Great costumes! There are, in fact, those of us who don't have Myspace accounts. Hard to believe, but true...
  • Costume maskerades are usually good, but those at a costume con (obviously) are the best. That Theodora costume is stunning, and brilliantly conceived and done. (I entered a costume maskerade once, and had so much fun I swore to do it the next year. But that was when I was 14, now I'm 28, and I haven't had time to do it since. It took my weeks to make my costume - most of the time on an mask. I learned how to make better masks the next year, but never got things together for the costume.)
  • *whistles apppreciately at Monster<>/b> and gomichild* Wolof, ta for a diverting read, chiz, chiz.
  • "But, but, but, you can see BOOBS with that dress!" - posted by BlueHorse What is fairy or Erté Dress? ...I'll take BOOBS for $500, Alex. (I've been lookin' all over for a "Zen: Intergalatic Ninja" mask...not here either, bummer. Nifty links tho)
  • Pffffft. That's not a fairy. THIS is a fairy.* Here's a pic of the Mongolian Warrior Princess at the 30 mile point in the Halloween endurance ride. Got way to hot to wear the scary black wig after 25 miles, and had to take off the horse's elk horns and my scimitar because they kept banging when we trotted. The pic of the Pazyryk horse is what I based Mega's costume on, and my faux bearskin cloak and wolfskin-lined boots came out of an image on the web. You can't see my way-cool horse teeth necklace or my real braided goathair cloak tie. I love playing dress-up. *I know, I know, posted before. But it was such FUN!
  • You can't post that one too often for me, BlueHorse!
  • Wow. I missed those before. Awesome!
  • we need to have some sort of meta-meetup where monkeys from all over can gather--in costumes!!! it would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN1
  • *rubs hands, schemes costume Make it a pub, with swinging doors, so I can ride my horsie in the door
