Billy Preston Dies At 59. An an amazing musican gone.

  • I had the pleasure of working with Billy three years ago- we were backing Aretha Franklin. He had a great spirit- a genuine good person and his playing was both inspirational and technically impeccable. He played his ass off, soul oozing from every pore and he gave it his all, even during the sound check. He will be missed. .

  • By the way, this makes the "Concert for George" that much more difficult to view. Billy played on a few tunes on that DVD, and did an amazing job as you would expect. But with George gone, and Billy gone now, my next viewing will be a bit more bittersweet.
