Wyphanwae's gripes. Wifey's been gripin, as usual, on this Mum's day stuff. She reckons the "Damned Whores and God's Police" attitude's still goin strong (& it better not start up in our house, or else) Pointed me in the direction of this Bulletin story. Wifey's got a brain like a whip & a mouth to match & I reckon I'm bloody lucky but if I buy her flowers or chocs, she cuts me off for the rest of the month. Reckons she wants power tools cozza bein more 'meaningful'. Eh? Wot?
  • That's an interesting article, especially given what I've seen from this side of the Tasman: financial rewards for having babies, a male-centric Parliament. The last woman in Australian politics that had any international exposure ended up in prison! I started into it thinking I'd see parallels between Australia and New Zealand, but it's like comparing chalk and cheese. Interesting editorial comment, there.
  • "You have to ask yourself why it is that these people who are in such positions of power live lives so at odds with the rest of us.” Ah, so just like here in the U.S.
  • "Reckons she wants power tools cozza bein more 'meaningful'. Or maybe just more fun? I hadn't realized that Oz was having such a negative-population-growth crisis. I seem to remember that, several years ago, Australia was offering lots of incentives to get people to move there. I know that the incentives went away - maybe they should offer them again.
  • Yes! I'd move to 'stralia. It has always fascinated me--except for the pizzen snakes. And the pizzin spideys. And those flies. But there are dingos! Maybe I'll just visit. And yes, power tools are so much more fun.
  • You guys have pizza snakes? How do they carry that special heat sack? Do the pizza snakes have maternity leave?
  • Pizza snacks.

  • No connection to being a colossal idiot rabid with xenophobia and voodoo economics interested the international press, hell no. Pauline went to prison for electoral fraud, btw, rather than for being a woman, although it's possible that's an offence in Australia. I wouldn't know as it's not like I am in contact with any lawyers here, they're so hard to meet.
  • Women are evil
  • That was meant to be a joke. I shall endeavour to include more emoticons. ;P >:) ^_^
  • Monkeyfilter: No connection to being a colossal idiot rabid with xenophobia
  • This wouldn't have happened if Germaine Greer wasn't busy being on Celebrity Big Brother.
  • Well, it would have in an alternate universe. Oh!
  • Mental image of Germaine Greer on Celebrity Big brother could it be true? Bring it on!
