FedEx Arrivals During Thunderstorms
  • Someone care to explain this one to me?
  • me confusey but I like the music
  • UPS Departures During Tornadoes.... DHL Dances During Floods... (still pretty nifty.. gotta get those flights in before the storm hits... Guaranteed Next Day, is a biatch!)
  • I thought it was kinda cool. Like a swarm of bees hurrying back to the hive ahead of a big net.
  • The black dots were FedEx planes trying to land at the airport where they probably have their hub. The red is a thuderstorm that they can't fly through. The video shows the planes avoiding the storm to land at the airport over a length of time. The video has been sped up considerably. I liked it a lot. It reminded me of the site I saw that tracked all flights in the US with red dots over a one day period.
  • The music really makes it.
  • once flying into dallas airport we had to skirt a big t-storm. the plane was on the same basic altitude as the storm, which we could easily see out the window, a ways off, wreaking its wonderful menace. it was cool, but yeah, I wouldnt want to fly thru it!
  • i was on a plane once during a storm and i looked out on the wing and i saw the craziest thing...a gremlin out on the wing, tearing off chunks of it and chucking them in the engine...i told the stewardess, but no one would believe me...
  • wow! was it twilight???
  • What kind of music is that? All I can think of is "some kind of 1960s modern jazz they used in upbeat comedy movies."
  • )))
  • flies!
  • Yeah, I agree on the ))).. thanks, argh!
  • Awesome. Run, Forrest!
  • That was quite cool! I think about three of the planes couldn't land at the hub, and diverted to other airports.
  • *pilots please wipe your seats after landing
  • THat was really cool.
  • Google video link of same.
  • That'll teach you to sit next to the Shatner, sexyrobot. He gets his own row, understand?
  • That was definitely cool.
  • hurry! hurry! hurry! hurry! hurry! AW CRAP! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!
  • I live about two miles north of Memphis International, between runways 36R and 36C. Every night serves up a slice of the spectacular as these planes come in 2 to 3 abreast spaced a minute apart.
