The Pillsbury Doughboy is being held for ransom! Oh nos! I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, apparently he died last month. The ransom pictures alone make it worth the while

Only one post today, I couldn't help myself...

  • That's the worst slideshow layout I've ever seen in my life. A new page for each picture? A child could do better, for crying in the bucket!
  • *pokes scartol gently in the belly*
  • Didn't someone do this with a Big Boy?
  • i love his laugh...
  • OMG I LOVE THERE o__O NOoO! Not the doughboy!
  • This reminds me of the time that myself and some friends stole a Arby-Q sauce dispenser and phoned in ransom calls. God damn my teen years were lame.
  • Is Doughboy the new version of the Garden gnome? Who is more worthy of freedom, Doughboy as the oppressed marketing tool of a corporation or the gnome as the tool of an individual master? Liberate then all I say!
  • oops i meant them, i meant them
  • I bet it's been secretly prearranged between the manager/owner of the store and one or more of the employees as a way to draw attention to the fact they're shutting down. Does that mean he's Pepsi Blue?
  • My favorite toy as a kiddie was my squeaky rubber Pop-n-Fresh.
  • Doughboy will be featured in the next Jean-Pierre Jeunet film in a photograph with a rope around his neck, a shotgun pointed at his head, the gas in the stove turned on and a lit match floating in an over-flowing wash basin.
  • My favorite toy as a kiddie was my squeaky rubber Pop-n-Fresh. Thank you for confirming that my favorite toy as a child did exist (I was so young, that sometimes I would wonder if I imagined that squeeky pop-n-fresh, but I have the grandest memories of it!)
  • Anytime, sugarmilktea, anytime. Any other hazy childhood memories you want confirmed, I'm on it. Just call 1-800-NDR-PNTS
  • Well, if you're all feeling nostalgic, here you go.
  • Thanks for the offer Underpants, but your 800 number led me to "Flowers By The Sea." Well, there was a spaceship I had as a youngster - perhaps a Battlestar Galatica ship? There was a speaker on the underside that would make noises changing in pitch as you moved the ship up or down. Did I imagine this? I'll get back to you on the others.
  • Lara, that was plain evil to post that link. I'm SO tempted to bid on that auction. $9.99 + $1.00 handling + shipping? Hmmm....
  • What, no chidhood memories of flowers by the sea? I'll see your spaceship and raise you a punch-out cardboard Battlestar Galactice viper cockpit replica, complete with origami-stlye Egyptian flight helmet. Cereal box mailaways rule.
  • Hah! I'll raise you one Nestle Quick bunny mug, with his ears as handles, obtained in 1980 (must admit, that is my best cereal box mailaway procurement)
  • Cracker Jack Rings!
