Greg Dulli Radio Interview
The interview is from 1994. It's hysterical. Dulli is in total shock having his own lyrics read back to him.

That album is the only AW I ever cared for, but damn do I love it. (Especially the photos in the liner notes.) I find it amusing that they've hotlinked the lyrics so that an ad for Pampers comes up when you hover over "baby"..

I plan to see the Twilight Singers in Atlanta. Gentlemen rules. The Whigs live was a site to behold.

That album is the only AW I ever cared for, but damn do I love it. I feel the same way as you. I gave the Twilight Singers a shot, and I was shocked at how good the Blackberry Belle is. Like a fine wine, he only gets more bitter with time (or, uh, a fine vinegar, I guess).
-
I enjoy the Twilight Singers, too, though Gentlemen hit a peak for self-loathing and bitterness that makes it one of the all-time most cathartic albums to listen to, in my book. It has a special place in my heart.

I saw the AW's, shit.. years and years ago, at a pretty small venue. Dulli kept complaining about the lack of energy or enthusiasm; it got pretty old, tbh. I wasn't a huge fan or anything to begin with, so maybe that's why I walked away with a rather negative impression?

lack of energy or enthusiasm I mean, with the audience...

greg dulli hit on me online once...

Dulli kept complaining about the lack of energy or enthusiasm; it got pretty old, tbh. That's classic Dulli. greg dulli hit on me online once... Do tell.

Put on Gentlemen for the first time in ages today. For the record: It's still tremendous.
