A short film strip that sort of explains who the monkeys are, what the monkeys are, and why we're monkeys. Via MeFi (I can't believe they posted it first, what were you people doing all night anyway!).

  • I think the monologue's existed here in another form, but still a cool link. The last picture makes me happy.

  • Penguin Cafe Orchestra. For those that liked the music. Once, almost 20 years ago, I used this same tune as music for a 2 1/2 minute fashion clip. This was in the time that video editing required still 5 seconds of pre-roll. During the editing, which involved a lot of cuts, I probably heard this song, or at least parts of it, a thousand times. And when I hear it now it still makes my heart beat faster and my mouth dry. Quite an achievement.
  • Working in audio is great aversion therapy for music in general.
  • I don't have any sound here, so with the murmuring in the background it got a sort of Koyaanisqatsi kind of quality. :)

  • mare indeed, I am right now leaching a torrent of this. I really wouldn't have an idea how to describe their music, it is pretty & gorgeous & beautiful & calm beyond reason. Also: 20 years ago I wasn't a zygote.
