Two German tourists who say they have taken a photo of the presumed extinct Tasmanian Tiger, the Thylacine, have returned to the state in a bid to prove the images are legitimate.
  • boo, the site won't come up. one of my tattoos is from a photo I took in Tassie. I would love to see a real TassieTiger.
  • The pictures haven't been published yet, there's no pix on this link.
  • There was a pic link in this thread at MeFi. Was this the same deal? Or some other tourists?
  • Oops, pic link
  • On further reading, I guess it was different. People are always seeing these things!
  • Well, that was a hideous fake.
  • THe pic linked by un-, I mean.
  • That's g-r-r-r-reat!
  • April 16, 2006 08:39PM UTC April 16, 2006 01:35AM UTC April 15, 2006 05:16AM UTC Too many posts per day dude. I know you're all excitable and all with the AS, but come on. HAHAHAHA
  • Everyone hates you.
  • I have an erection. Does that help at all?
  • Is the fucking thing tasty or not? I predict it's survival is guaranteed by tastiness; mine is.
  • You need to get laid. Try a human.
  • Chy, if they do show a picture, I hope ye post it here.
  • So do I.
  • I take fuzzy photos with my autofocus cam all the time - a slow shutter speed (under 1/60 of a second) means that even the shaking of your hands can make a picture blurry. (Thus the fun of motion photography). Also, auto focuses are sometimes slow, and often focus on the wrong thing - I have to struggle sometimes to get mine to focus on something when something else is brighter or closer than it. I can't say whether the photo is real or not, but fuzziness is not proof. Otherwise, maybe my wedding was faked - many of our photos were fuzzy, from an autofocus camera.
  • I want a Tas Tiger.
  • I took a photo of a rare Tony tiger, but then the cops confiscated my camera. The tiger in question had just killed and partially eaten a young kid. As the cops hauled my ass away I swear I heard the tiger snarl "Kids? They're Grrrreat!" In all seriousity, I do hope the thylacine is just pulling a Wollamie Pine or Ivory-Billed Woodpecker or Coelocanth thing on us here. That would be soo frickin' cool to have them actually still be around. I would totally double-post another non-extinction notice and everything.
  • A Tasmanian tiger ate my baby!
  • *raises hand Why did the Tas' jaw not continue to develop? Seems like the Tas with the slightly larger jaw would be more 'fit' to pass on those genes. froggy?
  • it's clear this beastie would rather not be seen but it it or isn't it a thylacine?
  • Interesting link: The "Tassie Tiger" Museum
  • Poor tastiger. This makes me sad.
