I'll never forget Dave "The Hammer" Schultz. God, I hated that Flyers team, Bobby Clarke and the rest of them pricks. /flashback to listening to the Islanders' 1st championship drive under the covers in my bedroom on transistor radio

I kinda prefer the 'new NHL' where skills and speed trump thuggery but a good scrap can get the crowd goin' too. My all-time favorite goon is Tiger Williams.

I'll never forget Gino beating up an entire Blues line during a Canuck/Blues playoff tilt. He was a bit more humble than Tiger Williams and always seemed to scrap with a big'ol grin on his face. He fired up the team [and his little pal Bure] and they went on to win the series. Nomeansno/Hanson Brothers song-"Oh no! Gino!"
