The tragedy in seattle. Live Journal of one of the victims

.

  • Wow. I got chills reading about the "Night of Terror." Very sad.
  • .
  • Here's another news story on the event. As in many cases when young people are involved, it looks like the police initially viewed the victims as possible suspects.
  • I used to live 10 blocks away on that same street up until a few years ago. Very strange to see my old stomping grounds all over the news.
  • Possible first hand account of the shooting.
  • Also, Seattle's alternative weekly, The Stranger, has a blog. This story is all over it and is doing a much better coverage from all angles than the local news outlets (naturally). If anyone is interested.
  • I was getting coffee yesterday morning when a girl came in and asked to use the phone. She was on the phone for a minute, I wasn't really paying attention. She handed the phone back to the barista and said "my friend just died - Did you hear about the shooting in Capitol Hill" and started crying. The barista hugged her and she walked out. It was pretty surreal. This is such a mellow city. It's really disconcerting to find out that someone attending the same small school that I went to, and a bunch of my buddies still attend, did this 3 blocks from where I had my first Thanksgiving in Seattle...
