I am computer literate! Who gave you permission to invade my website and block me and anyone else from accessing it??? Please remove your software immediately before I report it to government officials!! I am the City Manager of Tuttle, Oklahoma. via
  • I saw this a couple of days ago. All I can say is that you get the public officials you vote for.
  • Very funny! Arrogance and ignorance are sooooo tasty together! The Register also covered this, reporting the Tuttle Times forum has been hacked, possibly in response to this. I look forward to the city manager creating an interesting excuse to explain all this.
  • 1) Uh, how come they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground, but their archive.org listing shows: We're sorry, access to http://www.tuttle-ok.gov/ has been blocked by the site owner via robots.txt. Who figured out how to put a robots exclusion there, and when? 2) The Tuttle Times getting in on this? Ha ha ha! OMG, what a riot. I lived in that state, and I've seen countless instances of the Oklahoma press not rocking the boat on most issues.
  • Dear Mr. Taylor: In re: your correspondence on the 23rd of this month with CentOS: You give me IP address. I hack you. Regards, best wishes, &c., middleclasstool
  • -sends to tuttletimes for the heck of it.-
  • 22 years of computer literacy...down the drain. Glub. Bubba.
  • -sends to tuttletimes for the heck of it.- I get the impression from the original comments as well as the MeFi thread that the Tuttle Times is getting an earful, so to speak.
  • you can almost hear the sound of the centOS dude smacking his hand on his forehead at the replies...
  • Yes, I'm the city manager of Tuttle, Oklahoma and I know you are a terrorist or anyway a bomber and I shall tell the FBI to lower the boom upon ya!
  • Oh come on. Mr. Taylor looks like a nice enough guy. (Note: Heavy use of MS Comic Sans, always the sign of quality web design [shudder]) Of course at the time of this posting cityoftuttle.org is still feeding me the CentOS page. Must have been "hacked" again. ;)
  • I have 22 years of experience hacking computers! Give me your IP!
  • 127.0.0.1 come and get me, bitch.
  • es el Queso has stolen the IP of my router!!! Who gave him permission to invade my router and block me and anyone else from accessing it??? Please remove your software immediately before I report it to government officials!!
  • Yep and hell - my coffee cup holder just diintegrated again... knew microsoft couldnt fix and now apple??????
  • Update: IT genius Jerry Taylor has asked The Register to turn off the internet.
  • It should be noted that Taylor failed to thank many of you for improving Tuttle's web site. About 100 of you noticed the spelling error in Taylor's bio page where he wrote, "I am please [sic] to serve the citizens of the City of Tuttle." That line now reads "I am pleased to serve the citizens of the City of Tuttle." The site, however, continues to misspell Heisman - or Hiesman according to Tuttle - despite being the home of Heisman Trophy winning football star Jason White. Plenty of you noticed this mistake, and we guess Taylor will fix the problem soon.
  • I can't believe he is still saying "I only got help after threatening to contact the FBI." When is the city's next local election?
  • He's not an elected official. Just a hireling.
  • Wait wait, I know this one - Network Administrator?
