RIP Buck Owens More than Hee-Haw, more than "Act Naturally." Discovered his music a couple years ago and have been a die-hard fan ever since. Goodbye ol' pal.
  • Sorry for two posts in less than twenty four hours, but I liked the guy.

  • It's a damn shame to lose a man like that.
  • Buck Owens' Crystal Palace is Bakersfield, California's lone equivalent of the Branson Missouri music halls that turned that small town into a musical tourist trap (pace, RalphtheDog.) Check out the restaurant menu on the site. Lots of fried stuff, and few mentions of vegetables. Sounds like my growing up he 1950s amd 60s in the same area. I think have to eat a country fried steak in his honor. The "about Buck" on the Crysatal Palace site talks about the 1930s dustbowl migration. Some of you might find the personal story interesting.
  • Buckaroo!
  • Check out the restaurant menu .... Buck's Cowboy 32ox. Rib-eye Steak I bee damned....
  • In the Music Vault on his site there's a video of the duet he did with Ringo Starr on Act Naturally... looks like they both had fun.

  • My folks never missed an episode of "Hee Haw." To this day I cannot say the phrase "See you next week," without mentally adding, "on Heeeeeeeeeeeee-Haaw!"
  • . dang! so long, pardner
  • I loved "Hee Haw" better than "Laugh-In." Buck, Wheeeeeere, Oh Where Are You Tonight....
