As a lifelong fan of hip-hop (and one who used to make up bad raps as a teenager) the saddest thing about these clips is what sort of thing this kid (and as he is a synecdoche, young white America) imagines rap music to be about: thugging, mindless obscenity, eroticized violence, etc. He clearly hasn't been listening to Rebirth of a Nation, the new Paris/PE project..
