Musicfilter: The follow-up to Queensrÿche's magnum opus, 18 years later. Due out April 4th.

I'm not overly impressed with the 2 live recordings presented, but who knows - maybe they worked some magic with the studio release...

  • sorry, that was snarky. I apologise.
  • You just don't understand the genius that is Queensryche.
  • I'm going to allow it. But this had better be going somewhere, Mr. McCoy.
  • I see no Chris DeGarmo in that lineup. /14yearoldagain
  • I'm gonna get close far away from you.
  • I saw Mindcrime I performed live many years ago (When I was, ahem, five years old... yeeeeah, five. That's the ticket.) and it was fantastic, one of the best shows I'v ever seen. However. The band was in their prime then, and I am seeing no Chris DeGarmo involvement on Mindcrime II either. I hope it's gonna be good...
  • I saw Queensryche on the mindcrime tour in 1989, opening for Metallica on the ...And Justice for All tour. It was at Barton Colloseum in Little Rock, and in a 5000+ seat arena there were maybe 3000 folks there. This was before Silent Lucidity, and shortly before "One" would start the ball rolling to getting Metallica above ground (yes, kids, they used to be underground--no radio play, the only way you heard of them was when FRIENDS COPIED THEIR TAPES FOR YOU! REMEMBER,LARS?) Anyway, despite the 1/3 empty building, both bands put on a tremendous show, Metallica doing easily a 2 hour set. And Queensryche was tight as a gnat's ass, to borry a phrase from my dad. Great stuff. They kicked the crap out of the Kix/Whitesnake show a few months later, I'll tell you that, even with Steve Vai. ...*sighs* Anyway, I fully expect "Mindcrime: the Moneygrab" to suck.
  • TenaciousPettle: I either saw them the show right before or right after you, depending on which way they were going. (Fairgrounds Pavillion, in Tulsa) I agree with you, great show, although Metallica didn't impress me so much following Queensryche. Steve Vai was much more impressive trading licks with Billy Sheehan on the David Lee Roth tour than he was with Whitesnake. And better still doing his own club tour.
  • Hey VeraGemini, you think Vai needs another spanking?
