Flow while you wait for Spore.
  • Wow. I'm totally kicking ass... maybe. Uh...
  • Nope, my mistake. I actually have no idea what I'm doing.
  • Okay, this is important: YOU NEED FLASH 8 INSTALLED FOR THIS TO WORK PROPERLY! If you have, for instance, Flash 7 installed, the game won't tell you that anything is wrong, and will *seem* to be running, but all you'll be able to see are a bunch of random white dots that sort of respond to your mouse movements but only cause you confusion and alarm, as opposed to the beautifully designed glow-bugs that chase and consume each other and bring you joy.
  • Well, I beat it. I think. I got to a point where there wasn't any red bug left, any ways. And the guy in that last stage was a little tougher than all the pushovers before him. Fun way to waste 20 minutes, I guess.
  • Hypnotic.
  • Service Unavailable I think we killed it.
  • I also thought Flow was hypnotic and engrossing. I have mixed feelings about Spore- it looks very tempting, but I'm not sure I want to play it for the 50-100+ hours that are probably required to get to some of the cool parts...
  • Shoot, thats exactly what I do want. I'm tired of spending $50 on a game that lasts a weekend and no more. I guess I want a game to be a hobby rather than movie-style entertainment. 200 hours with lots of emergent behavior and mini-games is about ideal for me.
  • I'm looking foward to it.
  • I've got hobbies. I've got vocations. I've got a kid, too. I don't want games to be movie-style entertainments, but I also don't want them to eat my life. I want a game I can play for half an hour and actually get somewhere...
