Animated Kinky Friedman For Governor Ad Obviously, this is more pertinent for the Texan Monkeys among us, but I think the rest of you may find it entertaining, nonetheless.

  • Amusing.
  • That is certainly good fun. Did he give a reason to vote for him other than he is from Texas and he is not with the major parties?
  • He's Kinky Friedman. That's reason enough for most of us (Texans). I wish I were still living in TX so I could vote for him :)
  • Only in Texas (and maybe Tennessee) could you get away with a name like Kinky.

  • Very creative and entertaining. Seems almost like a fake or parody.......
  • His platform statements are here, good stuff on education, renewable energy, and health care. But frankly, I think the main reason to get him on the ballot IS due to his independent status, that wedge is in continual need of widening if we hope to ever get close to a representative democratic system.

There's a very good New Yorker piece what turns up early in Google, on Friedman's life, politics and times, if it's more background (or proof of his legitimacy) you're after. My only regret is, bein' somewhat of a young'un, I've never heard and can never seem to find any of the man's music...
