Alan J. Shalleck, co-author of Curious George, found dead.
  • 'Collaborator', not co-author. Sorry.
  • Gosh what a horrible story. I was expecting more of a "asleep in his armchair holding a Curious George soft toy" kindda thing.
  • Disturbing.
  • I come to this site for happy news. This is not happy news.
  • *points bernockle to this site *
  • I feel much better now.
  • what a bizarre and sad tale :(
  • Ah, Bernockle, tomorrow's headlines: Logging for rare woods set to begin in remote Indonesian rainforest Bush says clubbing enchidnas only way to prevent terrorism
  • So..., it's AskMe for the questions from now on? ...cuz, you know, no more Curious Georges...
  • Where do echidnas go clubbing anyway? And didn't Bob Dole have some problem with rare woods? Ok I'll quit now.
  • I love enchilladas.
  • What's up with the trash bags? tennenho was curious.
  • Well, he was in a trailer park... What? Too soon?
  • Armchair Holmes here. I wonder if the folded rug underneath means the murderer was going to drag the body somewhere -- to the car? -- in order to hide it. They couldn't move the body as easily as expected so covered it in trashbags and ran. I hope very sincerely that those bags are covered in fingerprints that are on file.
  • Dear lord this is depressing.
  • Yes, Watson, indeed. The whole situation is very ...curious.
  • Man in yellow hat spotted fleeing scene.
  • .
  • He seems like a person genuinely committed to getting kids excited about reading.
  • Tragic.
  • Can I be an armchair Mrs. Hudson? Of course, I couldn't bring you tea and kippers from my armchair, but I coud send out.
  • Very well, Mrs. Hudson.
  • I am curious no longer. Thanks Capt.
  • Those bastards.
  • Shalleck created more than 100 five-minute animated episodes of Curious George for the Disney channel, working with Rey, who wrote the original books with her husband. The project made him neither well-off nor well-known and he did minimum wage jobs while living mostly off his Social Security... Sad.
