It's spring in California and rodeo season has started
Whiskey Flat Days was last weekend. fun if chllly.
The Mexican charreada may have been the cradle of rodeo in the US, and it's still going strong in one of my favorite places. Black cowboys, (including Bill Pickett who latched onto the bull's lip with his teeth when bulldogging), American Indians, women and gay cowpokes have taken up the sport. Even the Europeans have cowboys. Canada has maybe the most famous rodeo, ever. If I still had horses, I'd see you at the Jackass Mailrun in April

It's a good ways yet from spring in north central Washington, but in three months we'll have the (in)famous Omak Stampede in the adjoining valley.
