I hate to say it, but hooray for AOL!

I hate to say it, but hooray for AOL! Certainly one of those rare moments. I'm curious how much this guy actually made from this. How many people could possibly get sucked in to such obvious idiocy? Meaning.....how many customers did he have?

It's great and all, but while AOL certainly incurred costs as a result of his spam, shouldn't the $5M be shared with people on the receiving end? Not only did they have to deal with spam (I assume this, but am certain their filter isn't perfect), but the increased cost of the filtering had to have been passed to the customer. Not to mention those customers Darshon mentioned... I'd imagine 99.9% of what he sold was absolute crap.

One spammer down....thousands more to go! guess it has to start somewhere

I think we need a non-monetary penalty for spammers. Something along the lines of "Kneecap, meet baseball bat." These bastards are the reason that the internet sucketh. They eat bandwidth, make me waste time trying to separate the good email from the garbage, and basically I HATE THEM. They should be rounded up, have their eyelids removed, and then put in a head clamp facing a TV playing nonstop QVC and Home Shopping Network until they go insane.

Oooh, that's vicious, clf!

You think? I reckon clf was holding back a bit there...
