Bullets & Beer
An amazing young man named Mike Loux set out to track down the minutiae of the Spenser novels written by Robert B. Parker. Because they are filled with memorable lines and obscure references to literature known only to those holding advanced degrees (as does Dr. Parker) it was a daunting task.
  • Wow. That is a pretty comprehensive website. I haven't seen many (any?) literary websites that were so fanatical. Fascinating post.
  • Is it bad that I don't know the Spenser books? Does this have to do with the TV show "Spenser for hire" starring . . . the guy . . who was in "Vegas"?
  • Yeah, same character. Though I've heard the books are much smarter.
  • The books are definitely smarter, but Avery Brooks' Hawk made the show wortwhile all on his own.
  • Just look what ye've done! I'm off to a bookstore now because this sounds like fun. O such torment!
  • Avery Brooks was a bad motherfucker long before anyone heard of Sam Jackson. He was coooooooooo.
  • Robert Urich! Thanks Chy.
  • Was't that "Vega$?"
  • *sheds a small tear for avery brooks's career*
