Batgirl Fever!!! On January 9th comic artist Andi Watson posted some old Batgirl sketches of his. Jamie Dee Galey and Dean Trippe followed with their own and now the list of Batgirl artists is over 700.

  • Isn't it like a law that if you spell your name "Andi" with an 'i' that you have to be a girl?
  • Yeah. It's right below the law that says if you spell your name in all lowercase, you have to be slapped repeatedly. It's commonly known as the cummings/lang Bill. I suspect "andi" is short for "angrogynous." Lovely artwork, though.

  • Alright, I'll come clean. The reason the whole 'Andi with an i' thing gets to me is this: In '99 or so I discovered this quirky, well drawn (in its later issues anyway) comic series called "Skeleton Key", which I really enjoyed, and I kind of developed a crush on the woman (so I thought) who drew it, andi watson. Kind of disappointing when the woman turned out to be a man. See, one pesky little 'i' and a comic writer with a good feel for feminine perspectives (AFAICT, any way) and now I've got teh gay on me. Thanks andi watson.

  • I've been following these too -- some of the art is just so good. I started following Dean Trippe's LJ because he's doing a Batman-style story (Knight-Bat) at the moment that's quite cute.
