Excuse me, weren't you in the Fall?
Mark E Smith's band is legendary for its ever-changing line-up. Dave Simpson made it his quest to track down everyone who has ever been a member

Great post one of my all time favorite bands. They were to play my town recently but canceled :-(. I saw them live on some beeb TV show recently. He still has it.
-
Was that on the Later with Jools Holland programme? They were magnificent on that, weren't they?

The Fall is one of my all time favorite bands as well. I had wondered what happened to Brix and now I know! Interesting current info about Scanlon too.

Was that on the Later with Jools Holland programme? They were magnificent on that, weren't they? Indeed it was. When I saw them on there, it whetted my appetite to see them live. I used to know where to download the original "Country on the Click" but I can't find the link anymore. :-(

I'd be willing to like the Fall if Mark E Smith wasn't such a wanker. Seriously, I understand the whole punk-ethos- and maybe I'd feel differently if Smith was still young, and not an old man now- but I just can't get past his adolecent nature. When the great Peel shuffled off, Smith was on a Newsnight interview, and the complete disrespect he showed to Peel and his loved ones would've been tasteless from someone who'd never met the man, but was insulting from a bloke who owed so much to him.

He is a cunt. A face you'd never tire of slapping too.

I was sitting on stage at a Fall show once and his microphone stand fell down and smacked me on the head. When he reached down to retrieve it, he actually asked me if I was okay! I was in shock, needless to say, having half expected him to, like, spit on me or something instead.

I had a chance to see the Fall a few years ago - he/they are ridiculously good.
