Curbside at the WTO "a unique frontline perspective on the WTO meetings being held in Hong Kong" (Last link is to webcasts of the public sessions). Third World Network offers three briefings (in not so handy .doc format, links top of page) critical of the talks' agenda.
  • Stuff like this makes me so annoyed at our TV news here: nothing on the WTO meetings last night because the news station was too busy covering the Wellington premiere of King Kong. Gah.
  • Wake up! Gah nothing on TV news anywhere. Try reading. Trade is good. Globalization is Good. Unfair EU/US favoured trade polices are bad. Globalization dominated via IMF, read US, policies also bad. 'Neo'cons control, as a direct result of the debunked leftist anti-trade ideology. The WTO will cost you* money. Fair Trade will cost you* money. But not a lot, and not for long. Try reading. *The richest quartile in the world. IE you and me. But really get a book, or a dial-up or something.
  • Shameless self-promotion for those who want some background info.
  • Fair Trade Fair [via] "We don't think we'll change the whole WTO system tomorrow," Durwael says. "But people need to earn a living today, and they can't wait years for an ideal system to be created. We want to do more than only say no, because we have a responsibility to these people." Only had a quick scan of your link scartol. I will give it a careful read.
  • Watched this extremely well-done documentary on PBS this evening, dealing with fair trade and product certification. Have a look if you get a chance.
