Someone's been decorating little piles in a German city with American flags for some time noe. I wonder if this site is somehow related? Or simply inspired by?

speaking from experience, there is so much dog shit everywhere in vienna and surrounding area. It prompted me as a 6 year old to go out with sidewalk crayon and circle each one with a big "PICK UP" (in german of course) next to it. It actually worked, and i was very pleased with myself.
