A STITCH IN TIME SAVES .. ALPHABET: A toy for the children found in books, blocks, pictures and vermicelli soup. Contains 26 letters and only three syllables.
  • Excellent link, jeraboam! But I don't understand what you mean by only three syllables?
  • Alnedra, it's under the 'A' section: he's quoting verbatim. Alphabet has only three syllables. :)
  • Thank ye kindly! That's what comes of only skimming each letter.
  • "C: Big blue wobbly thing that mermaids live in." This is a great link, jereoam. Language is fun!
  • that's a great domain name.
  • Some hoary old chastnuts in this. I especially like the ,...um...quips and wheezes that appear to the left. "Fine feathers make fine featherbeds." "Don't put all your eggs in one basket -- try an incubator." Aye, this one is just my speed.
  • Reminds me of the humor from Daze of Our Lives.
  • NEGRO One who votes your way.
    NIGGER One who doesn't.

    Oh most amusing.
Sorry jeraboam, I think your post is foolish.
  • Great link. The tongue in cheek style sort of reminds me of Dame Edna: "My son is hillarious...slightly more than gay"
  • Hi, greybeard! Foolish is what we generally do best here, randomaction.
  • Oh most amusing. Sorry jeraboam, I think your post is foolish. I think we should preserve stuff like that, to remind ourselves and educate the younger ones that the "good old days" were uglier and meaner in many ways. Nostalgia tends to whitewash stuff like that. The dictionary is not predominantly racist or discriminatory, and I feel that the few entries that are no longer PC should not detract from the overall humor.
  • It's old fashioned, but that non-PC entry rings true. It's actually a statement about racism, not a racist statement, even if the word is no longer acceptable even to be spoken.
