The Grace Lee Project. Do you know a Grace Lee?

Filmmaker Grace Lee's documentary about Asian-American women named Grace Lee sets out to meet as many of them as possible, in part to find some who don't fit a certain profile that emerges when she talks to people who once knew a Grace Lee - the nice, studious, dutiful, soft-spoken, accomplished good girl who'd gone through 3.5 years of piano lessons. (Of possible related interest - The Sweetest Sound - in a sense, a Grace Lee Project for Alan Berliners.)

  • ...wow. I was just googling everyone with my name the other day. I have a very common last name, so there's a few thousand, mostly a children's book illustrator and a woman who disappeared, presumed murdered, in England in the mid-90's. And the actress on smokingcelebs.com who seems to only have been in one movie, which seems to be porn, but that's not really her real name, so I'm not sure it counts. Sorry if I'm rambly, I've gotten into the shiraz. So yummy.

  • Thanks djryan - Gorman links to a site that gives some idea of how many people in the UK share your forename &/or surname: yournotme.com A similar popularity index for surnames in the U.S. My names are not popular enough to show up in these kind of things, but it never stops me from plugging in everyone else's names.
