Sorry if this is a horribly obvious question Ive been wondering for a while now if there is a MoFi style site for news. I know newsfilter.com will take me to snap news, but Im looking for a site to talk about the news, not just get updates.
  • MetaFilter? (seriously)
  • So, m'dear, post a link. Most news linkys seem to get plenty of comments--some are even intelligent comments!
  • There's Devoter. "This community weblog covers all aspects of politics, including interesting web links, news, and other political topics. Users are encouraged to register and post interesting political links to the collaborative weblog."
  • Looking at Devoter, there are hardly any comments at all! If it is politics you're looking for, and much news these days is given a political slant, there are quite a few lively forum type sites, but everyone I've seen resides on a particular part of the political spectrum and are more often than not hostile to opposing views.
  • Mefi does get some good politics, but not enough. I'll check out Devoter though. Basically, I'm a college student with a news habit, and I want somewhere to talk about it.
  • Perhaps you're looking for Plastic. Alternately, for read-only access to discussions about the news, Memeorandum is interesting.
  • Does anyone besides me think that Memeorandum has an extremely obvious editorial slant in its selection of stuff to post? And if that's true, would that be a reflection of the content of most blogs, or a reflection of something else?
