Curious George: does anyone know of a good online organizer?

I need something to help me stay on track with the eleventy-four projects I need to finish in order to graduate. And I need more than a calendar - I need reminders and maybe even threats when I'm late. Preferrably something free and user-friendly. Beyond user-friendly. I'm looking for user-sycophantic, user-flirtatious, possibly even user-stalkerish. What are y'all using that works?

  • OOooh. Yes. Seconded.
  • Maybe it's linked on this page.
  • Ooooh! That page has some really useful-looking stuff on it. Thanks, Gyan.
  • Nice link, Gyan!
  • Backpack is nice. I was never much a fan of organizers until this one. Though to keep track of eleventy-four projects would probably require a paid upgrade. You can at least try the free version.
  • ohh, some kind of software like that was shown by the mages at web2.1. Collaborative online thingy. You can try the nice Evolution, or, if you are feeling like spending that hard-earned cash that you have in abundance, you might try backpack (online). Or you can outsource the upkeeping of your calendar to India, and take their calls via skype.
  • Camilo - dangerous article to recommend. I am now considering outsourcing at least part of my graduate work. I mean, whoever I get in India has to better at C++ than I am, right? Now how do I get NSF to pay for it...
  • If you like, I'll call long distance with threats and coaxing. I am not, however, free or user-friendly.
  • i know this is going to sound old fashioned and all that but hey - um self discipline and control - i mean hell i got a BSc when i got it together and someone almost gave me a PhD by mistake u know- sorry cant help on this one - i suffered u will too!!!!!!!!! Bitter me never ?
  • yentruoc -- thanks for asking this question! I need a decent organizer, too. I just signed up with the folks at backpack, so we'll see how that goes.

  • I have also chosen backpack from Gyan's list. So far, so good. Although, I already have one thing late and it's my second day...maybe the problem is in setting realistic goals for myself.
  • My scheduling and project managing is still on the 'alarms on calendar' (via iCal) and scribbles on notebooks, but, when I have some crushing deadline looming, one of the things I do is unplug the net connection. Seriously.
