The value of Monkeyfilter. Based on the research of Tristan Louis, the dollar value of various websites is now possible to be determined. Monkeyfilter apparently is worth $173,313.78.

The blue, however, is worth a cool $1,801,447.14.

  • One Monkeyfilter: $173,313. One Metafilter: $1.8 million Every blog and website owned by me: priceless worthless. Bupkiss. $0.00, and apparently so bereft of value that Tristan Louis wants me to give him $10 just for clogging up his database.
  • My personal blog, defunct for a month, is still "worth" $167,668.38.
  • I am an eccentric millionaire, and I will buy this "Monekyfilter" from you. Or perhaps a train, which I can also afford.
  • interesting
  • SELL!!! SELL!!!!!
  • Mine's worth $1,693 dollars apparently. Not bad for five lame posts and no update for six months, and it's a very cheap hosting plan. BTW when I followed the Monkeyfilter link in the FPP it said worth nothing - has the bottom dropped out of our monkey?
  • Isn't what something is worth even partially related to what someone would actually pay for it?
  • I hear quid's in talks with a bunch of venture capitalists to initiate a hostile takeover.
  • Isn't what something is worth even partially related to what someone would actually pay for it? If you look at the Tristan Louis link, you can see that it's based upon the sale price of Weblogs, Inc. to AOL.
  • $4516.32 on the nose. Take that, Go Fug Yourself!
  • 68,873.88
  • Why, this very post is worth $99.95, if you bring in your coupon today!
  • Isn't what something is worth even partially related to what someone would actually pay for it? I will gladly sell my dead blog for $167,668.38, or best offer.
  • Now what do I have to do to get you into this defunct blog today?!
  • Well I took Monkeyfilter apart last night and analysed each comment. My confusion? At least 52% of MoFi is PURE PROFIT. 17% is pure bullshit. 9.62% is me talking about my goddam piles, and I can't tell you how much they're hurtin' me. 6% is cnn-bad but I don't understand what that bit means. 0.0062% is trace elements or trace acting like that chick out of "fifth element". Oh god my poor ass! I'm sitting on fire here!
  • I fail to see what this has to do with the 2004 Mike Guilton feature, "The Banking of the MoFi" in which Chyren plays John Travolta playing a gay hit man with too much money invested in beer. Also starring Jennifer Lopez as Max von Sydow's love interest, or "bling".
  • I was very good in that.
  • I love each and every monkey in this filter. Isn't that worth something?
  • No. We require money. And photographs.
  • Wow, Kottke is worth more than MeFi ($2.8m).
  • Not to me.
  • Koko: what kind of "love" are we talking about here? MonkeyFilter: 17% is pure bullshit. gold, pure gold
  • that is sooooo cool! i want to post it on my blog, even though the number is nothing to brag about, still amusing though. buy now while it's low! old blog = $1,693.62 new blog = $564.54 total value = $2258.16
