Making your own jam
  • Or, if you don't have fruit trees, but do have a vegetable garden, canning tomatoes can get you through the winter. (I do love to irritate the "no recipes" contingent.)
  • The "add corn starch" part of the jam recipe is garbage. A little pectin, maybe.
  • I learned how to can from my grandmother who used to trade piano lessons for gallons of blackberries and peaches ( the white meat ones). I tried to do it myself this year using organic strawberries the little girls next door had picked. It was so good and do easy to do. I love the whole idea of canning. You have to put up a lot to get through a winter, though.
  • You can make perfectly good jam with any frozen fruit you like, so don't feel bad if you missed a particular fruit in season. We made some blueberry jam last January using frozen berries and it was great.
  • Homemade peach butter is like sex on toast.
  • Sex on toast is like crumbs up your ass.
  • Mmmmm. Ass crumbs.
  • Stop telling me what to do!
  • I just recently bought some Polaner Banana Butter. (Think apple butter, but with bananas.) It was like sex on trees!
  • Mmmmm. Ass leaves.
  • Ass leaves what? (I can guess tho)
  • Ass leaves happy face.
