• I tried. Ny city is invalid. I think that means the Marines are on their way.

• Advantage of being in a big city, albeit non-US, I'm on there now. the characters are just a greeting to monkeys in Chinese. So who's filling in Santabashi?
• can't even do that on a Mac. It tells me I'm undefined. How dare you sir! Well I am on a mac (G5 w. Tiger 10.4.2) and it work fine for me in Safari. I assume (oh god I hope) you are on Mac OS X. If you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer for Mac, that might be part of the problem. I don't think they have updated the code for it in like 3 years.

• Flashboy: I just deleted you from the map... this way, you can redo it and get placed in the correct country.
• Cool! It got me in the right city, but being a stoop y'all, I didn't figure on the zoom so I don't actually live in the industrial badlands. Close enough :)

• It's just not good enough. With Google maps I can place my actual position, and I'm not fucking around with Frapper again, because it is frankly a pain in the arse.
• I didn't even know there was a London in Canada. Once, while stopping in Toronto on my way to London, I encountered Canadian customs officers who didn't seem to be aware that there was a London in England.

• ok, Im on there. It gets a little hairy when a lot of people live really close (ie LA westside), you have to zoom in really close to see me b/c I'm sandwiched between other people...

• Chy: I'm so very sorry that this free application doesn't measure up to your exacting standards. I'm not sure why you're so put out by the fact that, unlike Google Maps, you can't place your exact position on this map. Personally, I'd rather not have my exact location available on something like this. It's interesting to see where people generally reside, but I'm not interested in providing the entire world with my address on the Frapper map. I figure that something like this is actually more useful than the MonkeyMap on the wiki: partly because it doesn't provide my actual coordinates, but also because it doesn't require tracicle or michaelh to manually update the damned thing by hand every time someone wants to be added. You have a bit of a point with the "pain in the arse" thing, though. I initially couldn't add myself, and it took a second to figure out that Frapper *requires* text to be entered into the shout-out section. That's kind of strange, and it was confusing for maybe ten seconds. It doesn't seem to me that it's a reason to categorically refuse to use Frapper, though.
• Yeah, I had the same thing with the shoutout, but it gave me a nice little alert. Now I wish I'd added a picture right away, because it would seem I have to delete myself and re-add myself to include a picture now. But I maintain that this is cool and awesome. And the MonkeyMap gets no love these days, anyway.

• This is pretty neat. Curiosity about their world map: check out how densely Japan is labeled. And in Japanese, too. Really stands out against the barren wastelands that are South Korea and Australia.
• You can browse some other groups, too, which could conceivably be useful when planning a vacation or relocation. For now, Montana seems safe enough.
• Or any of the Dakotas. Africa too.
