In "The worst outbreak of the Marburg virus is happening in Angola."

I heartily recommend The Hot Zone for anyone who is interested in learning more about Marburg and Ebola. They are pretty scary diseases. Ironically, they are so lethal that infected people can't spread the disease much before they die.

In "Flash Card Exchange:"

I have always felt that for studying languages it is best to use multiple methods. Contextual clues in a text are helpful if you can understand the words around an unknown word. If not, then they are not helpful. Context is not helpful for conjunctions like though or because. Also in a sentence like, "I would like to order salmon for dinner." If you don't know what the word salmon means then context can only tell you that it is some sort of food or drink. I like to use flashcards, audio, texts, etc. when studying because I pick up different things more easily from each method.

In "The Doors - Puzzle"

Hotcakes and patita, check the furnace between the two doors in the first room for the piece.

In "Have you ever found yourself in a situation wishing that you were sweet like Uncle Jesse?"

Skirk, I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one to think of the Dukes of Hazzard.

In "Say it ain't so Stan!"

Really this was more the makings of a contract dispute than anything else. Lee was suing for a cut of the revenues of the movies and movie related items. I believe he was getting some cut of the income generated from the movies, but income is a very easy figure for accountants to manipulate.

In "Meet James Ensor"

This what I like about They Might Be Giants, I learn something and I get to enjoy a catchy little tune. More bands should be like this. Great idea, the_bone.

In "THE BIG FAT THREAD FOR THE ELECTIONS"

fuyugare, don't forget about FDR. He won the popular vote four times in a row.

In "Moose on a wire"

)), that's amazing! Thanks mothninja.

In "the debate"

MSNBC and Fox News have Kerry as the winner in their online polls, with Kerry getting 78 and 70% of the vote respectively.

In "Some rather excellent masks"

About 12 years ago, my sister got my brother and I the frog masks on that site from a shop in New Orleans. They are pretty neat. We had fun croaking and hopping around.

In "Large Penis Support Group"

At my high school we still take showers in gym class and after sports practices and the way that our shower room is set up you can pretty much see everyone from one single place. Guys around here are very open about being naked areound other guys so its not pure silence when we are showering. When some guys are talking to me, they say things like "wow, I'm jealous" , and "wow, ur dick is really big". I don't really know how to respond to that because I'm not really embarassed that its that big, and I also kind of like the attention of having the biggest dick out of all the guys. This is exactly how I remember high school.

In "So, you want to date a white woman."

It is really too bad that my local library doesn't have either of these gems. Now I will never understand the intricacies of women. Oh well, back to spending time with the wife.

In "The Map of Springfield "

No shotsy, you are just Simpsonified (it's fun to make up words like embiggens or cromulent.) The map has the Springfield post office next to the town hall and library but no where near the cemetary. Is this how it usually is? In the episode where Homer first finds out that his Mom isn't dead he is in the post office and the cemetary is visible from there.

In "Emotion Eric!"

Excellent, )). These two are my favorites.

In "Unusual Museums of the Internet:"

Yeah, I thought about keeping the webring secret and just posting the pages individually, but I know that someone else would have jumped on the chance to post the webring. Alas, I am a glory hog and don't enjoy sharing unless forced to. ;)

In "A hidden variable"

Thanks Nostril, this is interesting especially that Antarctica link. Although, why did you use a site that piggybacks off of Wikipedia for the incompatibility link? Here's the original but it doesn't have ads. Those sites always bother me because they co-op the point of Wiki to make money off it without doing the work.

In "Wikipedia "featured pictures" aggregate"

Neat, thanks Jerry. That roundabout animation is great.

In "Research in the Buff"

Also the Naturist Law Library for researching laws regarding nudism. Original link was via Enblog.org.

In "Click and drag"

57.212 seconds. You puny mortal games bore me.

In "Curious, George: Would you like to touch my monkey?"

If Sock Puppet doesn't mind my slight hijack (maybe just a co-jack?). Does anyone know of any Spanish language type MoFis or good spanish blogs?
