Ever time I reboot, all my user settings are gone, my bookmarks, and the iTunes library is corrupted again. I assume I must have some bad settings. Anyway, what I want to do is start fresh with a new user. I can create one, and make that one an Administrator, but how do I share everything (all settings, desktop, etc...) with the new one, from the old one, so that I don't have to recreate everything from scratch?

Lyons & Co., an Electronic History - a very British institution that sadly fell to the recession in the late 70's. I came to the UK in '78 as a wee nipper and caught the last of this company - it seemed the name was everywhere in quiet little village shops, tea shops in the towns, on tv, and on posters thru' London. Lyons even had the first business computer evar! Lyons Maid! Lyons Tea! Then it was gone. [more inside]

Breakdowns Marked Path From Hurricane to Anarchy
There have been so many conflicting reports, rumours and denials , that it's been difficult to figure out what really happened in NOLA in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
While many would not consider the NYTimes to be completely impartial, this is the first story I've seen that exposes the weaknesses, mishaps and unfortunate circumstances that contributed to the disaster that followed, and does it in what appears to be a relatively balanced way.

FEMA, so, so, infuriatingly sad. (WM video)
"Let me give you just three quick examples. We had Wal-Mart deliver three trucks of water, trailer trucks of water. FEMA turned them back. ...FEMA--we had 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel on a Coast Guard vessel docked in my parish. The Coast Guard said, "Come get the fuel right away." When we got there with our trucks, they got a word. "FEMA says don't give you the fuel." Yesterday--yesterday--FEMA comes in and cuts all of our emergency communication lines. They cut them without notice. Our sheriff, Harry Lee, goes back in, he reconnects the line. He posts armed guards on our line and says, "No one is getting near these lines." Sheriff Harry Lee said that if America--American government would have responded like Wal-Mart has responded, we wouldn't be in this crisis".

Curious George;
New Orleans was a disaster waiting to happen. For years we were warned of the consequences of a major hurricane flooding the city. Instead of reacting to fix the problem, money was spent elsewhere.
