Ancient Egypt (courtesy of the British Museum) The site is divided into ten 'chapters' which address themes or topics relevant to ancient Egypt. It's not just about pyramids. And there is a nice teacher resource section for the younger tuts. Site has not been updated since 1999, but it is ancient Egypt, after all.
  • Enjoyed the one on daily life -- thought the differences between the nobleman's household and that of the farmer did not seem very great, espcially when it came to diet. Have not gone yet through all the section, but I shall. Thanks, dt118.
  • Nice, spent much more time at this site than I really should have--I've got chores to do! In that link on daily life, it states: They sat on a bench and ate on reed mats. I can't fathom that. I'll bet they sat on the mats to eat like many Middle Eastern cultures. Anybody?
  • Zahi Hawass, Egypt's leading archeological authority, has previously demanded the permanent return of all five objects and has campaigned for the repatriation of Egyptian antiquities. What's his point? *kicks golden sarcophagus under couch nonchalantly*
