The city of Krakow is seeing a huge revival of Jewish culture. Thing is, there isn't a Jew to be found.
  • Wonder if a fresh circumcision is the ultimate fashion accessory in Krakow?
  • I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that I've just decided I'm part Prussian. (And no, I don't mean German.)Tomorrow I'll be either part "Pygmy" or part Pelasgian, depending on what mood I'm in. (Another neat Wikipedia link concerns self-parody.)
  • I was there about 5 years ago and remember the great music and food in the Jewish quarter... semmed to be some Hasids about but perhaps they were visiting. Krawkow is such a beautiful city...
  • This was a great article; Doug Saunders filed a bunch of really good reports from Poland last week. I'm amazed to see they're online to link to. I adore the Globe but they lock up their content so tight on their website that it makes me insane. The "trendy" aspect of these people's Jewishness is really a bit disturbing. But maybe they will learn something from it; would be interesting to follow this story into the future.
  • [blatant self-link] I've sort of bloged about this phenomenon when I got back from my trip to Krakow a few months ago. Here it is, complete with a representative photo from Kazimierz.
