The 2005 Bloggies Awards have started to gather nominations. Go forth and nominate thy favorites.

Let's make sure our favorite zoo gets nominated for 'Best Community Weblog' and has a chance at winning the coveted $20.05 prize money, and the substantial stack of kudos which accompanies. It might be a good idea to bookmark, so when voting goes live in a couple of weeks, it's easy to support those websites you read and love.

  • I am considering going to SXSW... my friend just moved to Austin so it's an excuse to visit.

  • Australian!! Back when I went to school, one of the japanese exchange students told me that he had previously thought 'New Zealander' meant 'polite Australian'. I didn't ask what he thought 'Canadian' meant.

  • darshon: i picked up the gig playing piano and organ for the florida-based indie band timewellspent after the album was released on parasol last summer (the album actually showed up on the cmj charts for a few weeks). i'm not on the album alas, but i've been playing out with them for several month now. after years of working as a classical musician, there's something magical about going back to my rock roots.

  • Fear not, forky - I nominated the Hut for the Best Entertainmet Weblog category... seemed the most appropriate place to put it.

  • Well, they've announced the awards, and metafilter won - again, isn't it? But weren't we at least nominated? Or did I imagine that? It's not there at all. I feel like I've slipped into some parallel universe, or something.
  • I think you clicked onto the 2004 Bloggies, m'dear. Slashdot won best community weblog this year, MoFi's right there in the nominations, MeFi won nothing, and word to tha man Psyko, who won Best-Kept-Secret Weblog for Teaching the Indie Kids to Dance Again. Holla!

  • Oh, that's good. Glad to know we were nominated (really, could we compete with the /?), and very very glad to know I'm not losing my tenuous grip on reality. At least, not on this.
