Pee and Sympathy, a NYC nurse's true Christmas story.
These true hospital stories are both funny and touching. Be sure to have a hanky nearby.

Thanks for the post. Earlier I was starting to tear up reading the end of McMurtry's
Streets of Laredo
, so this puts me on a sad but cathartic roll...
When I was 17, her new husband once woke me up with a knife at my throat. He was an abusive drunken mess. The next day I said, "Mom ask him to leave." "Why should I?" she said. "You don't even have a scrape on you. What about me?" she continued. "My head is a bloody mess from that frying pan, and I just had a wash and set."
Living the vida loco. Funny and tragic at the same time.
