Unesco recently added 13 new World Heritage sites to its list. At the same time, it took the almost unprecedented step of removing a site: the Elbe Valley at Dresden has been ruined by a massive new bridge plonked across it.

The thirteen sites, which you can also find described on the list are:The Wadden Sea, the Dolomites, Stoclet House, the ruins of Loropeni, the Cidade Velha, Ribeira Grande, Mount Wutai, the hydraulics of Shushtar, Sulaiman Too,the sacred mountain, The sacred city of Caral Supe, the tombs of the Joseon Dynasty, the Tower of Hercules, the watchmaker's community of La Chaux-de-Fonds/ Le Locle, and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
