So does it really breath? The article uses the word, but everything it says just talks about expansion and contraction, no actual exchange of matter.

"Breathe" is also slang describing how the walls and other surroundings appear expand and contract when one is on LSD. Make of that what you will.

I'm aware of the slang, waxboy. I just can't tell if it is being used as slang or not. Because slow pulsing of the atmosphere doesn't seem like that amazing of a story, but the exchange of atmosphere with extra-terrestrial matter does. So did they leave out some of the description of the activity, or did they use slang for a science article?
