Earth Atmosphere "Breathes," Thanks to Solar Winds.
  • So does it really breath? The article uses the word, but everything it says just talks about expansion and contraction, no actual exchange of matter.
  • "Breathe" is also slang describing how the walls and other surroundings appear expand and contract when one is on LSD. Make of that what you will.
  • ... appear to expand ...
  • We dirty earthlings ought to be grateful the Earth doesn't sneeze us outta here.
  • I'm aware of the slang, waxboy. I just can't tell if it is being used as slang or not. Because slow pulsing of the atmosphere doesn't seem like that amazing of a story, but the exchange of atmosphere with extra-terrestrial matter does. So did they leave out some of the description of the activity, or did they use slang for a science article?
