Dode, dude. Surprising amount of detail for an article warning about the dode-drug's dangers. Looks like I can finally cut down on the nutmeg...
  • Hmm. Gotta pop out to the flower shop pretty early in the morning.
  • I wonder what the US stance on "dode" is. The article implies that the opium poppy itself is illegal to grow in Canada, which is interesting. In the US I believe that it is legal to grow the poppy, as long as one does not possess the intent to extract opium from it.
  • I remember during an early rehearsal of zThe Moonstone, the director was talking about the opium use in the stpry. He was getting all excited going an about how you can get the poppies and the seeds over the net as long as it's not processed into opium first, and so on. I think he had forgotten that his fourteen-year-old daughter was there, because he looked a bit taken aback when she chirped up, "Thanks, Dad!"
  • According to article (which also mentions Jefferson's then-recently yanked up poppy garden at Monticello) it is technically illegal to grow opium poppies, but widely tolerated. As of 92, anyway.
  • GramMa grows oriental poppies. They are pretty when they bloom. ohhhhhhhh, look at the colors
  • who put the morphine and codeine in GramMa's Ovaltine?
  • .. sounds like it was GramMa.
  • Can I have some more poppie, Gramma?
  • Turkey pot pie, fresh baked bread, and iced coffee for everyone! I just have that wide-awake and energetic feeling today.
