Geordie goodness from the first and the last link.

  • Wow! This is great stuff. Fun all the way. A real Toponymy bookmark bonanza!
  • My father worked in Middlesborough for a couple of years when I was a teenager. This brings back a lot of memories. Thanks!
  • That Heathen names page fooled me. I was expecting to see a list containing my mother's birthplace (Heath Charnock, Lancs. near Chorley) And I was disappointed in the worst names. Nothing from Wales? Isn't the longest town name Welsh? Grrr. Having a bad day, and difficult to please...grrr. Good links though.
  • The longest place name in Wales: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Anglesey Wales Here's how to pronounce it and you can hear it pronounced here. So sorry you're feeling grouchy, Northern Exposed. Hope this makes you smile a bit. Oh, just geddoverit already, whiner /smile Who, me, not nice? *sighs
  • I was saving this for a post, but what the heck: The Meaning Of Liff, by Douglas Adams.
  • Some wander: fun link, but why in this thread? I think you may have wandered here by mistake. Obviously, you'd have done better in another post, as this one only got a few readers. *sulks and has herself a little babworth Well, I guess I'd better pull up my broats and move on.
  • Wow, neat homunculus. I lubs me some maps. Thanks for the new injection of life on this thread. As I was mentioning to wander, he bet a loser, as I didnt' get many readers, and I liked his Adams post, which probably would have had more if it had been an FPP...
