Gary Parker takes portraits of people, some of them quite special. I stumbled on the Little People Galleries, and found the photos wonderful in their treatment of the subjects, their bonds with family and others, and in the case of Brad Jordan, the breaking of bonds with the earth.

You may have heard of Kenadie Jourdin Bromley as she has been the subject of a TV documentary. Parker's galleries of small people made me wonder just how tough it must be to be a small, very small, person. BTW there's some neat stuff for critter people on the site too.

  • What I like about his images are the honest feelings they seemingly ooze and drip. Thanks for posting, kinnakeet!
  • Great FPP!
  • Wow, these are very good. Thanks!
  • Whoa! Those animal pictures are waaaaay to weird. The pic of the Sharpei's butt is too strange. And the pic of the flying seagull dog from hell. And the devil's spawn cat attacking that poor woman's head. What about the woman the cats tied up? Waz-sup with all that? But I love the Frisbie Dog Squadron.
  • I love the one of the guy on the skateboard - too cool!
  • I can't imagine what it is like to be that small. I'm 6'4". Things are hard enough for me as it is - but the difficulties faced by someone shorter than average? Yeesh. Props to all those blessed by short stature! (My wife will love these pictures...)
  • Heck, I'm 5'4" and can't reach things on the top shelf in the grocery store, or in the cupboard over the sink.
  • There's a lot of love in those pictures.
  • Now that I'm home and have time to look, I can say that these are, indeed, gorgeous pictures. I watched a documentary not too long ago on Kenadie Bromley. Quite an amazing child.
  • When I was in Vegas, I saw Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity. One of the performers was a little person, and he was amazing. Awesome ariel work, and a tumbling routine that made him look like a cannonball rolling across the stage. He can very briefly be seen doing a back flip in this trailer.
  • wonderful post.
