13 pictures that changed the world. You've probably seen most of them, but the descriptive paragraphs below each reveal some quite interesting backstory notes.
  • hmmm...do i smell a photoshop mashup contest or what?
  • Great pictures, though I don't believe any of them changed the world more than pictures usually do. On the Dali one, it says "It took six hours, 28 jumps, and a roomful of assistants throwing angry cats and buckets of water into the air to get the perfect exposure", which is wonderful in itself - but I don't understand how you can throw a bucket of water into the S shape depicted. Any ideas?
  • Would it work if you were throwing it upwards and moving backwards quickly at the same time? I'd like to know if the kissed nurse was as angry as the cats.
  • I agree that the burning monk deserves to be included.. There are other good ones in the page's comments.
  • For me, it's this one. I'm glad to learn that the girl survived.
  • Where's Britney's shaved nether region? That one certainly contributed to change on MoFi.
  • As for as I recall right now, the Kent State photo is one that had the biggest effect on me. That, and goatse.
  • No Tiananmen Square?
  • I hope the cats clawed Halsman up but good when that whole thing was over.
  • Very nice, and the suggestions in the comments are swell too. Thanks! Lara, they only threw cats who were already angry, IIRC. Over 38 assistants were killed in process.
