Awesome Periodic Table of the Elements in Flash and another one that's not quite as awesome but super all the same done with Ajax. Requires FLASH for the first one, & JavaScript enabled in your browser for the second. SFW. No sound. Duh.
  • the flash one is fantastic: a genuinely useful application. the ajax one is nice but less of an improvement over a simple table.
  • You show me yours, I'll show you mine.
  • grumble...poxy controlled desktops with old versions of flash plugins that you can't upgrade...
  • popups? What is this, 2003?
  • And no link to Lehrer? Tut.
  • popups? What is this, 2003? Baby and bathwater, man.
  • Great link by a great contributor. Unfortunately, Chy is composed of mostly of element number 101 (Hence his nickname, "Mr Mendelevium") and thus he has a half-life of only 51.5 days. Every two months there's a little less of him - and still you "MoFos" ignore the great links he constantly provides. Well I'd just like to say: Chy, you may only be two foot tall now and have a really high, squeaky voice, but I love you, man. I really do, you little radioactive bastard.
  • IT'S OSMIUM YOU BITCH you ALWAYS forget that's it. no heavy water for you.
  • Another proud brick in the window of teh Internists. Still though, you've got to admit this "science" is all made up and Jesusium is the only true element. Nice try though. Isn't Ajax like "Web 2.0" in the sense that it's nothing new . . as such?
  • It's the war rocket I dispatch, petebest.
  • OMG! Elements! Those things are dangerous, man.
  • Holy crap, whoever designed that Earth Scientists' Periodic table desperately needs to read Tufte's The Visual Display of Quantitative Information.
  • Well over half of those elements are completely made up! Well, I've never seen 'em anyway.
  • "Well over half of those elements are completely made up! Well, I've never seen 'em anyway." Using that logic... I'VE NEVER SEEN ANY OF YOU! YOU'RE ALL FIGMENTS OF MY IMAGINATION! ARGH
  • The Flash one is neato! See also the Wooden Periodic Table.
  • Awesome indeed. Makes you feel sorry for poor old Mendeleev, who had to write it out on cards and shuffle them around looking for patterns.
  • Where's the sound?!?!
  • I'VE NEVER SEEN ANY OF YOU! YOU'RE ALL FIGMENTS OF MY IMAGINATION! ARGH Pfft. Duh
  • Actually, we are Legion! (i.e., we're all petebest).
  • I'm p33tb3st
  • I'M SPARTABEST! petacus?
  • Isn't Ajax like "Web 2.0" in the sense that it's nothing new . . as such? The technology it uses is damn near as old as teh Intarwebzorz, ja. Well, that's a bit of an overstatement, but not by a whole lot. But the particular combination of asynchronous JS and XML that's all Web 2.0 hypey is still a somewhat new concept. Just took my fellow dorks awhile to figger it out is all. Fucking Google bastards with their flying cars and their free hookers and their Green Lantern rings and their lack of premature ejaculation...
  • Illuminating, and impressive indeed Chyren.
